We are all picked out for 2025!

Thanks for a short, but fun picking season! We love spending the weekends sharing our small boutique orchard with everyone.

This year we added crafts to the list of activities, which 245 kiddos completed! Nice job guys. In 2026 we’re looking to add another activity or 2 to the list.

Opa’s Orchard is owned and operated by 83 Landscape Supply Inc. Located in Mundelein, IL, it’s a great little 2 acre orchard close to home without the long drive! We have 2,000 dwarf apple trees between 6 and 10 years old. They are located on a trellis system in rows for easy picking. This system is called the “Fruiting Wall” and should take around 10 years to mature. We’ve got some time to go but are opening up the orchard to limited guests and weekends. We’re a smaller orchard that specialized in Honeycrisp and its sub varieties. Many are “Fire Crisps”, with an improved exterior, taste and shelf life. We do have a few hundred trees of mixed Cortland, Empire, Gala and Johnathan. We have a big passion for Apples and have been growing and grafting fruit trees our whole life with Opa! Opa’s since passed on but his legacy can be found in every row of apples in the orchard.

While we do specialize in getting right to the point and U-Picking high quality apples, we also have a few activities. You can find games, facts, and of coarse picture ops scattered through the orchard!

The orchard is grassed but we still recommend hiking shoes. Well behaved dogs on a leash are accepted. Give some apples a taste at the tree, but please no throwing apples… just drop them on the ground for deer to enjoy that frequent the orchard at night. There is a pond on the property, please watch you small children!

When traveling to the orchard for events, its best to google “83 Landscape Supply” or “Opa’s Orchard” on Google Maps. You will see signage when you enter. The orchard is by appointment only for special events like the “Twilight Tunes Night Out”. Thanks and we look forward in seeing you this fall!

Pre-booking your admission ticket is encouraged and guarantees parking and your time slot picking. 35 families are allowed in the orchard at a time. Walk-ups are taken in a first come first serve basis as room allows.
