Lawn Top Dress Mix

Our Top Dress Mix is mixed on site with Topsoil, Premium Compost and Torpedo Sand. Sand may sound weird, but it is great for giving drainage, keeping the mix loose and sinks down into small voids in your lawn. Spread out our Lawn mix, level it using a rake or even better a “lawn leveler” tool and your in your way to a new and improved flatter lawn! After leveling, you’re going to want to pick a correct grass seed for your area(shade, sun or mix). After seeding the leveled area per direction on the package, we recommend adding a straw blanket, loose straw or peat moss to keep the seed in place. This is critical in keeping the seed moist and away from birds.  Water, water, water!

A few notes on overseeding:

1. overseeding is meant to fix patchy grass or low areas to a depth of less then 2″.
2. This mix is designed for spring when powdery fine topsoil is unavailable but lawn growing is at its best,
3. consider a “lawn leveler” tool. Find it on amazon! its a great investment. This is the tool golf courses use!
4. It may take 2 Springs of doing this if your lawn is really unlevel.
5. Focus the material on low and bare spots and taper to high areas.
6. YouTube is your friend. Search “lawn leveling rake” for some great DIY content.
