Additional Services – Edging/Weeding

Weeding and edging can be done for an optional fee on mulching day. Please call to set up a full service and supply credit card before we come out. Weeding and edging is charged at $40(2024 rate) per man hour when complete. We are not responsible for hitting lines/pipes/etc that we cannot see. All public utilities should be well below the standard 3″-4″ bed edging if installed correctly. We do not edge new beds, we only maintain established beds.  We regularly see bad installs of invisible dog fencing wire, low voltage lighting, sprinkler systems and cable internet. If you have these pre-marked by the corresponding company, we can avoid them. If you do not pre-mark them, you assume all fixing costs involved. no exceptions. If we can’t see it, we don’t fix it.  Unfortunately most are avoidable problems if everyone did their job to code. Invisible dog fencing any low voltage landscape lighting is almost always within 1-4 inches below surface. Sprinklers should be 8″+ below but rarely are. These are items that JULIE cannot mark for. You must call your corresponding contractor and pay them to mark the service.

Please understand we try to do the best we job we can. We do not want to hit anything, but it happens. Whatever we cant see, we can hit within 3-4″ edge depth.

Important Notes on Thickness – Please Read

This service is meant to be a simple service for delivering, and installing mulch in or around beds and trees. Minimum order is 5 cubic yards placed at approximately 2″ thick.  We will not “paint” or “dust” mulch super thin. If this is what your looking for, look elsewhere. You need approximately 2″ minimum coverage to properly suppress un-established weeds, help buffer extreme temperatures to the roots and provide moisture retention.  While broadcasting mulch very thin may be easier on the pocket and look nice for a couple months, your not doing your yard any favors.
